Veterans’ Services

Hood River County Veterans’ Service Office (HRCVSO) is managed by the County Veteran Service Officer (CVSO) Monday through Thursday.  Veterans are encouraged to make an appointment to come into the office to register your DD214 (Discharge papers) and get familiar with services they may be eligible for.

Hood River County Veterans’ Service Office (HRCVSO) provides a wide variety of programs and services to Veterans’, as well as widows and dependents of Veterans’. The HRCVSO is here to help Veterans navigate the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), the Oregon Department of Veteran Affairs (ODVA) and other available Veteran services. The office can help veterans with filing a claim, gathering the information necessary to support their claim, and tracking it through the DVA system. If necessary, the office will also help with filing appeals for denied claims.

The HRCVSO is managed by the County’s Veteran’s Service Officer (CVSO) who assists veterans and their families in acquiring U.S. Veterans services. The CVSO predominately works with veterans to submit claims for: medical, housing loans, education, disability compensation, war widow pensions, and widows’ compensation. Secondary tasks include attending Veterans’ events on Holidays, providing presentations to local veterans groups and care providers, and ongoing training.
